The Hawai‘i Youth Opera Chorus (HYOC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing choral music education to youth in Hawai‘i. Established in 1961, HYOC is the state’s longest-running youth chorus and offers training in vocal performance, music theory, and Hawaiian choral traditions.
Their programs emphasize cultural preservation, often incorporating Hawaiian language and mele into their repertoire. HYOC provides opportunities for students to perform in operas, concerts, and community events, helping to develop young artists and cultivate a lifelong appreciation for music.
