Overview

The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) Explorer Program is a mentorship and career exploration initiative for youth ages 14–20. Participants gain hands-on experience in firefighting, emergency response, and public safety while developing teamwork, leadership, and civic responsibility.

Our Partnership Impact

• Building character, discipline, and leadership in young adults • Introducing youth to public safety careers and community service • Supporting mentorship that fosters teamwork and resilience • Expanding skills in first aid, emergency response, and public outreach

Partnership Story

Through HPF’s support, the HFD Explorer Program equips young people with practical skills and the confidence to serve others. Participants learn to lead with integrity, work under pressure, and value safety and service. Whether they pursue firefighting careers or carry these lessons into other fields, they emerge as responsible, service-minded leaders committed to strengthening Hawai‘i’s communities.
